Abstract

Our concern in studying the role of dance as a way of preserving the culture of the ethnic group ‘’Vanyemba’’, held in the commune of Dongo municipality of Jamba, results from the need for a better way, we understand our origins and the special place that she occupies in this Community. For this reason, it was a matter of great importance to us to understand dance as a way of preserving culture, which is part of our habits and customs, the source of our own way of being. Accordingly, to broaden knowledge about culture and the role it plays within the Vanyemba group. The motivation for choosing the heighted theme, start from the interest of the experiences lived the rural communities on hand, on the other hand, it has to do with the congenital incapacity of the African peoples in general and, in a specific way in this community inhighlight, the existence of the weak domain concerning the knowledge of the same, one the part of the young people who are the driving force of the society, the true defenders of these cultural values. Regarding the structure of the work, we have three chapter, we highlight the literature review, bringing theoretical concepts of dance within the traditional periodization of dance history. In the second chapter, we describe the presence of the Vanyemba ethnic group in Dongo Commune, Municipality of Jamba; finally, in the third chapter, we highlight and analyze the role of Dance as a Way of Preserving the Culture of the Vanyemba Ethnic Group of the Vanyemba Ethnic Group in Dongo Commune.
