Abstract

The need for environmental studies stems from the threat posed to the environment by human activity, which in general results in the degradation of the atmosphere, hydrosphere and lithosphere by pollution, among other causes. Thus, the need to include environmental issues in the population becomes imperative, in ways that they have a general knowledge of environmental problems and that can help them in decision making in a local, regional and global context. In the study entitled: the importance of environmental education, day-to-day care. It was identified as a study problem that is materialized by the following question: what is the importance of environmental awareness for the residents of Bairro a Luta Continua (Sofrio) Zona E. For this purpose, the following objectives were outlined: to systematize the different bibliographic theorists of education environmental; diagnose the causes of the level of knowledge about the importance of environmental education in the preservation and conservation of the environment; propose pedagogical actions for the preservation of the environment in the residents of Bairro a Luta Continua (Sofrio) Zona E. This work is characterized by being of the descriptive type. Types of methods were used, of which we have the bibliographic research to obtain information from books and other documents existing in libraries; Inductive-deductive: part of the general to the particular in the analysis of the theoretical conceptions that constitute foundations of the investigation and its concretization, in the study of the particular cases that allow to reach the conclusions and generalizations related to the treatment of the problem; Historical-logical: it was used mainly in the first chapter of this work, properly in the study of the antecedents and in the theoretical foundation of the research problem in question. The study had a population of 800 residents from which a sample of 30 residents was drawn. The results obtained from the surveys were introduced and treated in the Microsoft Office software, Excel package, thus allowing the obtainment of graphics that are presented in ways to be interpreted in the results chapter.
