O CONTRIBUTO DA IGREJA ADVENTISTA DO 7º DIA PARA A VALORIZAÇÃO E PROMOÇÃO DA LÍNGUA UMBUNDU: UM ESTUDO DE CASO JUNTO A COMUNIDADE RELIGIOSA DO TEMPLO CENTRAL NA CIDADE DO LUBANGO

Abstract

Thus, the present work consists of two chapters: In the first chapter, we address the role of national languages ​​in African societies, colonization and African culture, religious denominations and the importance of national languages, the role of the church and the school in maintenance of national languages. In the second chapter: we characterize the municipality of Lubango, the central church of the seventh day, we also talk about the church of the seventh day and the appreciation of the Umbundu language, the central church of the seventh day and the advantages of the umbundu language, the Angolan government and the challenges of national languages ​​in Angola, we also approach the valuation of national languages ​​in the teaching-learning process and language as a factor of cultural identity. For the present work we used the following methods: Historical, Descriptive and Comparative; and we also used bibliographic research, documentary research and as a research technique we used the interview. The invaluable value of national languages ​​in enhancing collective identity was fully demonstrated. The use of the interview, as a technique or instrument aimed at collecting information, helped us in a certain way in the preparation of this work.
