As Práticas Ritualisticas Do Casamento Nas Comunidades Ovimbundo Da População De Caconda, Aldeia De Chicambi

Abstract

In the present work, an approach is made to traditional marriage in Angola, with main emphasis on the marriage of the Ovimbundu in the municipality of Caconda, specifically in the commune of Gungue. Marriage is an institution of capital importance in all societies, because in it lies the guarantee of the continuity of the human race, in the fortification of families, society and the State. The work is structured in three chapters, in the first chapter we made a brief theoretical discussion, the historical framework of the Ovimbundu communities, the culture in the Ovimbundu communities, the political organization of the Ovimbundu peoples, traditional marriage rituals in Angola, the Ovimbundu wedding ritual of the Gungue commune. In the second chapter, we talk about the age of marriage of the Ovimbundu young people from the Gungue Commune, the Ocimbundu young man in search of his bride, the Ocimbundu young man's request to the girl, the presentation and their practices, alembamento (ovilombo) in the marriage of the Ovimbundu of the Gungue, duties of the groom's family and the bride's family in preparing for marriage, polygamy in Ovimbundu cultures, divorce in Ovimbundu communities, the consequences of divorce in Ovimbundu communities of Gungue. The third chapter was reserved for data analysis and treatment, presentation of the population and sample, research instruments, suggestions, bibliography, conclusions and annexes.
