Análise E Reflexão Da Resistência Cultural Nos Ovimbundu De Benguela Através Dos Ritos Funerários.

Abstract

This end-of-course monograph entitled: Cultural resistance in the Ovimbundu of Benguela through funerary rites is the result of a systematic survey of the cultural values ​​of the peoples of Angola that had been called into question during Portuguese colonization. The theme addresses issues about funeral rites and their role in the cultural resistance of the Ovimbundu of Benguela during Portuguese colonization. The scientific problem was raised: What is the impact of funeral rites on the cultural resistance of the Ovimbundu of Benguela? In order to respond to the identified problem, the general objective was outlined, which consists of understanding the cultural resistance of the Ovimbundu of Benguela through funerary rites. With regard to specific objectives, we sought to describe the theoretical and practical facts that underlie cultural resistance through funerary rites; describe the social utility of funeral rites; as well as understanding the sensitivity and level of knowledge of students, academics, social and political groups about the cultural resistance of the Ovimbundu of Benguela through funerary rites. For the elaboration of the work it was necessary to resort to a set of methods such as, approach method, inductive method; deductive method; bibliographical and documentary research method; Historical method and the comparative method. The bibliographic technique was also used; Survey by Questionnaire and the interview. Using the norms for preparing end-of-course monographs in force at the institution, our work is structured as follows: Dedication, Acknowledgments, Summary, Index, Introduction, the main text divided into three chapters, where we address, among other aspects, the general overview of the region of Benguela, we begin with the historical context of cultural resistance, highlighting the lines of forces used by the Portuguese to enshrine the natives, we present the usefulness and symbolic meaning of funeral rites for Angolans, followed by a discussion on funeral rites. It ended with conclusions and suggestions.
