Os Experimentos Químicos Com Uso De Materiais Alternativos Como Fonte De Motivação Na Aprendizagem Dos Conteúdos Da Química No I Ciclo Do Ensino Secundário

Abstract

The present work covers the experiments with the use of alternative materials in the teaching-learning process of Chemistry in the 1st Secondary Cycle, with incidence in Colégio Nº 414 – Quipungo, province of Huíla. Well, the teaching of this content has generated several suspicions due to the way it has been carried out, in which teachers are only attached to traditional methodologies, which has led to poor motivation for students to learn this discipline. Based on this position, the present investigation was carried out, whose starting point consisted of the following problem: how to improve the motivation for learning Chemistry by students of the I Cycle of Secondary Education of Colégio Nº 414 – Quipungo through a methodological alternative based on the experiments with the use of alternative materials? The object of study consisted of the teaching-learning process of Chemistry in the 1st Cycle of Secondary Education, hence the field of action to reflect the experiments with the use of alternative materials to improve the motivation for learning the contents. In order to confirm the existence of the problem, a diagnosis was made on a sample of 13 Chemistry teachers from the 1st Cycle of Secondary Education and 108 students from the 9th Grade of the aforementioned School. The solution to the research problem was given by fulfilling the objective of developing a methodological alternative based on experiments with the use of alternative materials to improve the motivation for learning Chemistry in the 1st Cycle of Secondary Education. The tasks defined in the work were accomplished with the combined application of theoretical, empirical and statistical methods, taking into account the engendered descriptive research design. Having done this, the idea became clear that experiments using alternative materials can be a good alternative to improve students' motivation to learn Chemistry, if well explored.
