Kwame Nkrumah e o Processo de Descolonização do Gana (1945-1960)

Abstract

The execution of the present work was done through the Documental method; Historic; Comparative and Bibliographic. These served as a guide in the pursuit of the pre-defined objectives in this investigation. The work is of a descriptive nature, and is structured by three chapters. Chapter (I) describes a theoretical, historical and geographical framework of Ghana from: Economy, Climate, Relief, Hydrography, Colonization, Decolonization, English Penetration, Effective occupation and many other important elements of Ghana's socio-political life. Chapter (II) focused on aspects related to the Life and Work of Kwame Nkrumah, considering him as one of the forerunners of the process of emancipation in Ghana, taking into account the Influence of the Russian Revolution in Africa and the Second World War as important factors in terms of external influence on African nationalism. Chapter (III) presented statistically quantified subjects, whose data represent the variety of responses obtained from students defined as a selected part of the target population of this research. Following the colonial description, the style of colonization in French Africa, Belgian Africa, English Africa, German, Italian and Spanish Africa was characterized; showing convergences and divergences of the colonization models of each European power. The founding of the UGCC was instrumental in formally launching Ghanaian nationalism by bringing together people from various social strata who were interested in Ghanaian independence, without forgetting the revitalizing role that Nkrumah had played in this party, whose continuation had its crux with the founding of the People's Convention Party (CPP) by Nkrumah.
